Across The Lake

Across the Lake, contains two translucent pieces that hang one behind the other. As they move and flow with the air around them they create depth and shadow. Inspiration comes from a lake in Nepal, where the reflected light on the water created movement and depth whilst the brightly coloured saris that the women were wearing on a festival day dropped vivid dyes and reflected sparkle into the lake water. Hand woven using monofilament, metallic thread, silk, cotton, fishing weights, steel washers and recycled mens suit cloth and saris rescued from an Indian sewing room.
