Picking Up the Pieces 1, is the first in a series of four hand woven works that incorporate recycled jigsaw puzzle pieces. Every puzzle piece has been individually hand painted and then woven into the fabric. Other materials used include fancy Italian yarn, paper yarn, fabric scraps wool yarn and monofilament. Each piece in the series is contained in a Perspex mounting that sits slightly away from the wall to ensure space and light surround the work and enhance the translucency.
