Kimono is a hand woven double cloth. Materials used include, fine cotton and monofilament yarns and individually cut and heat transfer printed organza ties. The ties are integral to the cloth and the printed design is based on vintage Japanese kimono patterns. This piece is inspired by prayers and wishes written on paper and then tied in and around shrines in Japan.
